David and I have been married for three months now. I decided I wanted to start a blog so that we can keep record of all our new memories together. Our life together started on May 17th 2011. I woke up early that morning excited and nervous about our big day. After spending the morning getting ready we made our way to temple. On the way there it was super gloomy and rainy outside. The only thought running through my head was that the rain better be gone before we get out of the temple. I walked into the temple with my family to be welcomed by my future husband. We went our separate ways only to meet up again once we were ready to be sealed for time and eternity. Before our sealing we were able to sit in the celestial room together, and this is when it really hit me, that I am actually getting married. The sealing was beautiful, it felt so good being surrounded by all the people that truly love me, and it felt so good knowing that I was going to be sealed to David for time and eternity. After I shed many tears we made our way back to the dressing room. I was so excited to show David my dress! It took me a long time to find the perfect dress. It was white of course, had a dropped waist, bunching and then a full skirt at the bottom. It had my favorite high collar and many pretty silk flowers bunched one side. I decided to be different and have a birdcage veil and white lace gloves. I loved the way I looked. After getting all ready I walked out to see my prince charming, his jaw dropped, it was just the reaction I was hoping for. As we walked up the stairs I was scared to look out the window, I didn't want to be raining anymore. Sadly it was pouring. My spirits dropped at that moment. This was supposed to be my special day and rain was all I needed to ruin it. Me and David walked out the doors I put on a smile on my face, he dipped me and our family and friends cheered. Instead of being able to hug all my family and friends we booked it to the temple steps where we took the fastest pictures ever. Then it was time for mine and Davids pictures we went all around the temple taking pictures trying to stay somewhat dry, and me trying to put smile on my face. After a little while I become so frustrated at the rain, we decided to go inside the joseph smith building and take some pictures in the warmth. We walked through the temple tunnel so we could stay dry which was a good, but then bad struck. My mom stepped on my dress. I heard a riiiiiipppp and I just started bawling and thinking to myself this not how my wedding day is supposed to be, its ruined. Luckily it was not that big of a tear, and I felt much more relief. After pictures inside and attempting to take some more outside we were wet, freezing, hungry and ready to be done. We had a little time together then made our way to our wedding breakfast. When we got there it was totally clear and pretty outside, I was kind of bitter that it couldn't have been that way earlier. We had chicken cordon bleu, salad, rolls, and a few other things. Our family took some time to stand up and talk about us and before you knew it, it was time to get ready for the reception. We had our reception at carmelle in Holliday. It was beautiful. I loved this place because it was so classy, the tall ceilings, the big windows, chandeliers, a beautiful garden and water fall, the lit up buffet table and just the over all feel of the place was just what I wanted. On the tables were tall vases filled with hydrangeas, roses, and many other beautiful flowers. There were pictures of me and David all around. We had a slideshow that showed pictures of us when we were little, while the grand piano played music. We had a candy bar that my mom went nuts on. There were so many different types of candy it was awesome. For refreshments we had Ice cream with brownies, waffle bowls and tons of different toppings. We didn't get to try any but I am sure it was good. Our cake was white with different pipping on each level and a ribbon on the bottom of each tier. Fresh flowers and pearls surround the cake. It turned out really pretty. I loved every element of our reception. It turned out better than I had imagined. Before the reception could start we had to take pictures. Getting ready for them was kind of hard we had all gotten mutilated from the rain and had to try to once again look good. Taking pictures was also tricky because my sister in law Brittany was pregnant at the time and thought she was going into labor. Because of this her and my brother went to the hospital and missed taking a lot of the pictures. Luckily they did make it in time for the reception. The night was wonderful we had so many people there it was nuts, they had to set up barriers for the line that rapped all around the room. It was so fun to see so many people there for us. It was also so fun to see family and friends that I hadn't seen for such a long time. It was great hearing how excited people were for us and getting compliments of how good we looked! I do have to say I did feel really pretty that day. After standing in line for two hours it was time to start the fun. I was able to do the bouquet toss, my good friend Kendall caught it , I can't wait to go to her wedding next. I do personally believe the bouquet toss really works. I caught my friend Carlie's bouquet while I was dating David, look what happened. Next we did the garter toss. Before tossing, David had to retrieve, he did this with his teeth is was great! My friend Jordan from work caught it. Next we cut the cake. David fed me first. He took this huge piece that was twice the size of my mouth and some how was able to get it in there, it was huge I could barely eat it. Because of that and because its tradition I shoved cake in Davids face. He was super nice and didn't do it back to me. After cleaning up we had our first dance together, we danced to Shania Twain, From this Moment On. while we danced my two year old niece Brylee rolled all over the floor it was quite entertaining to watch! After all the festivities, we got changed and were ready to head out. We had a great exit. Friends and family lined the car port holding sparklers, me and David ran through only to find our car rapped in plastic. On the outside it was painted with all sorts of sayings and pictures. After getting all the wet plastic off we opened the door only to find condoms, bras, undies, balloons and all sorts of great things in our car. I thought was hilarious. After cleaning it up a bit we were off to the honeymoon. Although it rained on our wedding day it was still a wonderful day filled with people that we love. I will never forget this day and the promise David and I made with one another and our heavenly father.
Holy Cow! I am so ready for school to be over. This semester has been the most time consuming semester I have ever had. The Elementary Education program has been a lot of fun, but I need a break from all the work. David has been swamped too! Luckily in a week finals will be gone and it will be time to party hardy! David and I were able to take some time to enjoy our Thanksgiving though. We were able to spend Thanksgiving with David's dad's family. It has been about 10 years since they have all been together because they all live so far away. David's Aunt Nancy came from New York and his Aunt Mary who I have never met also came from New York. It was great to get to meet them and of course eat Thanksgiving dinner. I even tried out making my first real Thanksgiving pies. They turned out pretty yummy if I do have to say so myself. I didn't wait long after Thanksgiving to get ready for Christmas. The night of Thanksgiving I went black Friday (more like Gray Thursday) shopping with my mom and Brittany. We got some good deals, I can't wait to give David his presents! The next day David and I decorated house and put up our cute Christmas Tree! I am so excited for finals to be over and to celebrate the holidays with my family!
